Q: What type of students attend Journeys
Academy?
A: Our programs are tailored to students who do
not learn well in typical classroom settings due to unique cognitive,
communication and sensory challenges, including students with autism spectrum
disorders.
Q: Is transportation provided to the school?
A: No, transportation is not provided to the school.
Q: Are there before and after school care programs?
A: Yes, we understand some parents have work in the morning and afternoon. We provide Morning Care at Journeys Academy for a cost. If students will be attending After Care, they will participate in Victory Kids Sports After School program for a cost. Please call for more information regarding our policy on this.
Q: What are the hours of the school day?
A: A typical day is 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Q: Is lunch provided for the students?
A: No. Each student brings a bag lunch. Students will have the option to bring in their own money and purchase items from a limited menu. We want to encourage students to learn how to use money on their own.
Q: Does Journeys Academy provide social skills
and life skills training?
A: Yes.
Journeys provides community-based
learning opportunities where students can refine community living, social and
work skills (banks, stores, restaurants, etc.).
